ACT vs SAT

In 2025, both the SAT and ACT have undergone changes, but they remain distinct standardized tests used for college admissions. The SAT is now fully digital and uses an adaptive format, meaning the difficulty of questions adjusts based on your performance. The ACT, while also available digitally, continues to offer a paper-and-pencil option and does not adapt to the test difficulty.  In addition, the ACT Science section will be optional beginning Spring 2026.
